Elk River Hosts Women's Weekends
I spent the weekend in Slatyfork showing a great group of ladies some of the most beautiful woods on the East Coast. It was all part of a Women's Mountain Bike Weekend at Elk River Touring Center. Co-guide Susan Haywood and I treated the group to legendary trails including Bear Pen, Props Run and Tea Creek Connector. When we weren't riding we were enjoying gourmet dining or refreshing with a cold beer in the hot tub. These weekends are a great opportunity for women mountain bikers to hone off-road skills, learn tips and technique from seasoned riders, and enjoy the camaraderie that only shared experience can bring.
