It's Bike to Work Week!
May 17-21 is Bike to Work Week. Riding to work is fun because the morning air is refreshing, the birds are singing and ... you're not sitting in a car! If you aren't able to bike to work every day this week, make a goal of bike commuting on Friday (May 21), which is national Bike to Work Day. Consider stopping by these events for bicycle commuters while you are riding to and from work that day:
The City of Parkersburg, the Downtown Development Task Force and the Blennerhasset Hotel are sponsoring a breakfast for bike commuters. They will provide refreshments at the Farmers' Market Tent at the corner of Third and Market Streets from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.
Parkersburg Bicycle invites commuters to pop in during their after-work bike commute for a Bike to Work Day reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Enjoy light refreshments and conversation with fellow bike commuters. We'll also be happy to air up your tires and provide a free bicycle safety check.
